Shopping and culture

Not far from the hotel, you can visit the Musée Maillol, with its collection of 20th century modern art, the Musée Rodin with its 6600 sculptures, the Musée d’Orsay, which showcases paintings and Western sculptures from 1848 to 1914, as well as Art Deco pieces, photography, architecture, and finally the Louvre, one of the most important museums in the world. Then, why not stroll along the banks of the Seine or through the Tuileries or Luxembourg Gardens? The Mayet Hotel is also just a few minutes away from the famous Bon Marché department store.
Known as the first ever French department store, located in Paris’s 6th arrondissement, Bon Marché was founded in 1838 by the Videau brothers.
The first shop to develop the concept of the department store with its vast choice of products, fixed prices, a direct access and its merchandise presented on the shop floor, it is now the most famous luxury department store of the Left Bank.

Not to be missed: a visit of the Saint-Germain-des-Prés art galleries, the antique dealers at the Carré Rive Gauche, the designer boutiques on the Faubourg Saint-Germain and shopping at the major fashion houses.
